About the Opportunity

About the Role
Based in the Bay Of Plenty region, this position will see you;

  • Provide overall direction and leadership for the office, reporting directly to the company’s directors.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations while offering technical mentoring and design oversight to the engineering team.
  • Lead the delivery of complex projects from conception to completion, ensuring high-quality solutions and client satisfaction.
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and best practice within the engineering department.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, representing our clients at meetings and industry events.
  • Play a pivotal role in business development, proposal preparation, and identifying new opportunities for business growth.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment, supporting the professional development of all team members.
About You
You are a people-focused leader with:
  • Proven New Zealand experience in a senior or principal; level mechanical engineering role, ideally within process plant, piping, pressure equipment, or industrial systems.
  • Strong technical background in piping, pressure equipment, mechanical/structural supporting systems and industrial process design.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineering teams.
  • A relevant degree level qualification in mechanical engineering (CPEng or international equivalent preferred)
  • Experience in sectors such as energy, food & beverage, dairy, oil & gas or industrial processing.
  • A strong commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development.
  • The drive to contribute strategically to the success and growth of the business.
  • Previous consultancy or asset owner experience is key, but those with the right personal attributes, seeking progression or a new challenge are encouraged to apply.
  • Able to commit to relocation to the Bay Of Plenty region
