This is a broad and interesting role that would make a great career step for a motivated engineer with a background in product reliability, design, development and testing. The Product Reliability Programme Manager is responsible for leading the product reliability function across the organisation with the main focus being the continuous improvement of products and ensuring that customers receive premium solutions and services that exceed their expectations.
About you
You will have a strong technical background focused on the design and development of electro/mechanical systems. With prior expertise in reliability and testing, gained within a design and manufacturing environment, you will be well versed in product development  and reliability. The two key aspects of this position, that you will be able to demonstrate, are your ability to analyse and report across a range of technical data sets and information, identifying trends and making well thought out recommendations. As well as being a natural ‘people person’ with good communication and influencing skills you will be confident dealing with a range of international customers and suppliers.
About the organisation
An award winning exporter of market leading technologies. This organisation is a privately owned kiwi success story, counting some of the world's most recognised brands amongst its key corporate customers. Headquartered in Christchurch the business has operations in both New Zealand and China, suppliers across the globe and customers across Australia and New Zealand.
What you will need to be successful

  • Qualification -  Tertiary level (7/8/9) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience - 7 plus years relevant experience gained within a design, development and manufacturing environment
  • Technical expertise - A background in the design and testing of electrical/mechanical components and systems and experience working in the broader product reliability field
  • Leadership skills - the ability to support and grow the team, as well as lead cross-function teams outside of the product reliability function.
  • Analytical skills - proficient in using information, data, and reporting tools to reveal important insights and drive decision making (Life Data Analysis, FMEA, Weibull). Experience programming in Python and utilising Power BI would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to understand complex problems and solutions, then communicate them at the appropriate level to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence across the organisation, customers and suppliers.
  • Problem assessment and problem-solving skills.
What's on offer
  • An employment package including competitive remuneration, health care plan, life insurances
  • Established, successful and growing organisation
  • Working across teams of industry experts assembled from a diverse range of New Zealand and global locations
  • Interesting and challenging work that makes a direct contribution to future direction of products and services
