Switched On Group is seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to join our Digital Team in Christchurch and play a pivotal part in delivering innovative digital solutions for our nationwide building and maintenance operations.

The Role
As a Senior Salesforce Developer, you’ll work closely with a Solutions Architect setting architectural direction and alongside another Salesforce Developer, ensuring adherence to standards, solution and data architecture. You’ll play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of bespoke Salesforce solutions as part of our Building Solutions digital program. Working within a cross-functional squad including a Functional Consultant and Data Business Systems Analyst, all under the guidance of a Scrum Master, to deliver complex, business-aligned digital projects.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Design & Development: Lead the analysis of business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Develop high-quality, scalable, and secure Salesforce solutions using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Components.
  • Integration: Build and configure integrations between Salesforce and other critical business systems such as Procore (construction management), Mulesoft, HRIS, Xero, and field service tools.
  • Project Leadership: Work as part of a project squad to deliver Salesforce-based solutions for customer relationship management, trade onboarding, facilities management, and tendering/construction.
  • Testing & Deployment: Conduct thorough testing (unit, integration, user acceptance) and manage deployments across environments to ensure stability and minimal disruption.
  • Maintenance & Support: Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements for live and in-build Salesforce applications.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Engage with business stakeholders, project managers, and other developers. Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and mentor junior team members.
  • Alignment with Strategy: Ensure all development aligns with the established data model, digital roadmap, and business objectives.
Key Projects & Focus
 
You will be instrumental in:
  • Procore Implementation: Supporting the rollout of this leading construction management platform and its integration with Salesforce 3 .
  • Salesforce CRM Build: Configuring and building out CRM solutions for the Building Solutions business unit, including product and asset data structures.
  • Company Onboarding & Trade Induction: Adapting existing Salesforce solutions to meet the specific needs of the Building Solutions team.
  • Facilities Management & Tendering: Supporting the development of work order logging, tracking, and integration with Salesforce.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Salesforce development, including Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Components.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data model, and security. Experience with Salesforce integrations using REST, SOAP, and APIs.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead projects, mentor junior developers, and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional squad.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Desirable: Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II), experience with CI/CD tools, and knowledge of other CRM systems or cloud platforms.
