This role could be based in either Christchurch or Queenstown.

The role:
Their well-regarded Fire Engineering team is known for delivering high-quality engineering solutions and first-class service. From one project to the next, work could range across universities, sports centers, hospitals, schools, and more. The role covers the full project lifecycle, including inspections, report writing, preparation of specifications, and ensuring compliance. Collaboration with clients, architects, project managers, councils, and contractors is a key part of the role, as is supporting Christchurch-based Directors and Senior Engineers.

The ideal candidate:
They are seeking an experienced Fire Engineer with the following qualifications and skills:
  • A Master’s degree in Fire Engineering.
  • Have New Zealand fire engineering design experience within a consulting environment, including writing Fire Reports and Specifications.
  • Familiarity with site investigations and compliance inspections.
  • Practical knowledge of NZ Building Codes and Standards, including experience in both Acceptable Solutions and Verification Method C/VM2 designs.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with clients, architects, project managers, councils, and contractors.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build professional relationships.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with design software.
